We hiked up Adams Canyon in Layton. I'm not gonna lie, I did have to stop once and thought I was gonna die, but I made it! The river was hard to cross and freezing. Being in June and a snowy spring at that- there was still a lot of runoff. After we crossed and enjoyed the waterfall for a few minutes, we started hiking up past the waterfall.
There is a nice campsite of sorts not too far over the ridge and down a little bit. Justin had stayed there before. It is right by the river, and has a nice place for a fire and a couple tents. It was perfect. We set up camp right before dark and then got a fire started and made dinner. We had so much food! We had each brought backpackers dinners, and on top of that Hot Dog stuff and Smores....Yeah we were pretty much stuffed. It probably was one of my favorite nights of the summer. Good food, good company, good times. We stayed up late talking, and laughing. After taking down camp the next morning (after a great night's sleep) we decided IHOP sounded way better than what we had brought to eat.
So we headed on down the trail. I will admit that I felt so cool heading down the trail with my pack on, early in the morning. We kept passing people who were like- Oh did you spend the night out here? Heck yeah we did! I know it's lame, but I grew up with three brothers. I spent a lot of time trying NOT to be the wimpy one. So doing things that are a little out of the ordinary (for some people) especially if they are dealing with the beautiful outdoors, I'M IN! And yes, IHOP was a great choice!! Thanks Cortney and DeAnn- We had so much fun, and are so glad we're friends!
