Cruise February 2011



The Norwegian Star



Well in February we went on a MUCH needed vacation to Mexico on Norwegion Cruise Line!  We had planned going with our best friends Aaron and Cassie, and at the last minute our good friends Topher and Becky decided to come!  The Slades and us drove down to Cedar City, met up with the Tiedes and we were off!   We stopped in Vegas at IN-N-OUT for a late dinner.  A memorable moment there was when I almost walked in on a man peeing in the girls bathroom.  (The stall door was open)  Yeah, I was trying so hard not to laugh!!   We arrived in California at our good friends Jake and Brook Gotbergs house at like 3 AM!  It was very late and we were exausted.  We got to sleep in and the next day got to participate in their annual Valentines day breakfast.  Actually they call it the Man Hater breakfast.  It was fun because we all told funny stories about the worst dates you had ever been on.  Quite unique for a usually mushy holiday!  It was so fun hanging out with Jake and Brook and their cute little Alice!  They dropped us off at the ship (we almost got dropped off at the wrong pier, but we eventually figured it out!)  The cruise was amazing.  We have only been on one other cruise, and it was only 3 days 2 nights, so this week long cruise was awesome!  Everyday we got crossword puzzles and wordfinds from the "library" and really enjoyed the ice cream cones all day long!

Sunday- Lots of relaxing on board and getting to know our way around.



First Formal Night



Monday- Valentines Day!  Went to Cabo San Lucas and spent the day at the beach.  Great weather, albeit COLD water.  We rented a Catamaran and Justin took us all out in shifts.  Well worth the money.  The water was so blue and beautiful!  We also took a harbor tour over to Lover's beach, and Divorce beach.  I know funny names...  Beautiful and fun.  It was so nice to just relax!

Tuesday- Mazatlan today!  We had an hour long shore tour with sting rays, jelly fish, and lots of seals.  The best part of this day was we ended up on a beach that was roped off, so only certain salesman could bother you.  If you went out of the roped area, then anyone could bug you, but it does wear on you being asked to buy things every second... I definitely was grateful to not have that life.  We all kayaked to a small island not far away.  The beach was all crushed shells, and was really cool. Of course we all had our Chacos on, so we had to document that.

Wednesday- Puerto Vallerta!  At this port we went to where Predator was filmed for some zip lines.  They were awesome and some of them were song long!  Breathtaking views, as we were in the middle of the jungle and up in the treetops!

Thursday and Friday were days at sea,  where we enjoyed good food, great company, and lots of downtime.  We watched movies, swam, fancied up at dinner, danced in the elevator, and watched beautiful sunrises.  Wish we could make this a yearly event!
